It turns out, the USA can beat Finland.
There were a lot of concerns, mostly from national media types about whether or not Michigan football could get the job done against Iowa to secure the Wolverines’ first Big Ten Championship since 2004. After an emotional win over Ohio State the week previous, pundits expected it to be a tougher than normal game against the No. 13 team in the country.
About that. . .
The maize and blue jumped out to an early 14-point lead, which it took into the locker room at halftime (the 14 points, not the lead). Then, the real pounding began, as the Wolverines blanked Iowa in the second half while scoring 28 points in the final 30 minutes — a number the offense hit in the second half a week before against Ohio State.
With the maize and blue wearing special patches honoring Tate Myre and those who had fallen in the Oxford school shooting, the Wolverines managed to score exactly his number: 42.
Ryan Wise, Michigan’s excellent videographer, put together a hype video chronicling the Wolverines’ big win. It’s a must watch.
