Patrick Peterson can’t catch a break this year.
Peterson suffered a hamstring injury that led to the team placing him on IR. Peterson finally made his return to action against the Packers in Week 11. He then missed the Week 13 game against the Lions due to being on the COVID-19/Reserve list.
This week, the Vikings corner is off that list, Minnesota announced Tuesday. The Vikings also announced that Peterson will be ready in time for the Thursday matchup against the Steelers.
Peterson, who signed a one-year deal with the Vikings last offseason, has been the team’s best cornerback this year. Minnesota could use his veteran presence, considering how up and down corners Cameron Dantzler and Bashaud Breeland have been during the 2021 season.
Peterson has two passes defended and a PFF grade of 63.1. He has looked better than his numbers have shown this year, because opposing teams have mostly tried to pick apart other members of the Minnesota secondary.
