After sustaining a blow to the head early in Sunday’s matchup against the Bengals, Joey Bosa was taken immediately to the locker room without a visit to the blue tent.
Even though Bosa cleared concussion protocols, Brandon Staley decided to keep him from returning.
Staley said that Bosa’s history with concussions was the reason for pulling him from the game.
“As long as I’m head coach here, I’m going to be making decisions like that in the best interest of our players,” Staley said.
Throughout last season alone, Bosa sustained two concussions.
While a key piece, Staley’s decision to keep Bosa out was not detrimental since his fellow teammates still managed to apply copious amounts of pressure on Joe Burrow.
Bosa’s availability for next weekend’s game against the Giants remains to be seen.
