Wisconsin QB commit Myles Burkett named AP state football player of the year

The future Badger earns a top Badger State honor

Myles Burkett put together one of the best seasons in Wisconsin high school football history, and was rewarded with one of the state’s highest honors.

Burkett was named The Associated Press state high school football player of the year on Thursday.

It was a historic year for the Badger class of 2022 commit, who threw for 36 touchdowns with only four interceptions. Burkett threw for 3,427 yards and completed 71.3% of his passes.

The crowning achievement, however, had nothing to do with individual starts. Burkett’s Franklin Sabers took down Sun Prairie in a 38-17 win to take home the Division 1 state title. Hopefully it was the first of many wins Burkett will be a part of at Camp Randall Stadium.
