Brian Kelly has been the head coach of the LSU Tigers for less than a week and he’s already adopted a southern accent. Kind of.
The news of Kelly’s hire away from Notre Dame to LSU has been the biggest story in college football over the last few days and with every update we get, things only get wilder. Kelly’s message to the team after his split was dunked on relentlessly. Audio of Kelly’s awkward final meeting with Notre Dame players leaked to the world… and was dunked on relentlessly.
On Wednesday, Kelly made his first major appearance at LSU during a basketball game, wherein he made a halftime speech to the fans. During said speech, Kelly repeatedly slipped into a southern accent, an accent he is not known for as he is from Massachusetts.

You can really hear Kelly slip into the accent when he says “Tiger” and “family” during that speech, for no real discernible reason.
As expected, this unusual slip into a southern accent sent Twitter ablaze with jokes and roasts at Kelly’s expense… again.
