The Houston Texans were doing so well to pick themselves up from the bottom following a big win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 11. Then, Houston fumbled it away against the New York Jets in a 21-14 loss at NRG Stadium.
According to Nick Wojton of the Touchdown Wire, the Texans losing the unheralded battle of two 2-8 teams relegated them to No. 30 overall in the latest power rankings for Week 13.
Some critical penalties helped down the Texans, but neither team looked very good in a 21-14 win for the Jets in Houston. The Texans mustered only 202 yards of offense as the early-season spark provided by QB Tyrod Taylor before injury seems gone.
202 yards of total offense seems bad enough. 45 yards of total offense in the second half is horrendous and speaks to how much of a struggle it can be for the offense to even move the ball.
Around the rest of the AFC South, the Titans dropped out of the top-5 to No. 6 overall with the New England Patriots defeating them in a possible playoff preview. The Indianapolis Colts dropped from No. 12 to No. 13 after their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jacksonville Jaguars dropped one place down to No. 31 following their loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
