Another day in college football, there’s another coach bolting one program for another as we approach bowl season.
After Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma for USC, Brian Kelly jumped from Notre Dame to LSU, stunning the college football world especially with the team in the playoff mix.
On his way out, the note Kelly sent to Notre Dame players that, as my pal Andy Nesbitt correctly wrote, was pretty lame — he apologized that everyone had to find out he was leaving through reports or social media.
Then? He dropped this line: “I will have more to share when we meet tomorrow at 7 a.m. but for now, just know that my love for you is limitless and I am so proud of all that you have accomplished.”
Love … is limitless? Twitter had a field day:
Just now Brian Kelly messaged Notre Dame’s roster in Team Works that “I will be leaving Notre Dame.”
The plan is for Kelly to meet with the team tomorrow at 7 a.m.
