The hits just keep coming.
After it was confirmed that Lincoln Riley was headed to California to join the USC Trojans, a tidal wave of de-commitments from the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes followed. Today, as the Oklahoma Sooners begin their coaching search, Spencer Rattler broke the ice on Sooners entering the transfer portal. Now, another member of the offense is expected to do the same in wide receiver Theo Wease.
Sources tell me Oklahoma WR Theo Wease is expected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. The former five-star Allen prospect accounted for over 650 yards and 6 touchdowns with the Sooners and will have three years available with COVID eligibility. @BrandonDrumm247

Wease missed the 2021 season after suffering an injury in Fall camp. Though he was close to returning, he never was able to get on the field for the Oklahoma Sooners. Wease tied for the team lead in receptions in 2020, helping Spencer Rattler and the Sooners win a sixth-straight Big 12 championship along the way.
Though the Oklahoma wide receiver corps is deep, Wease could end up being just the first of several dominos to fall amid the uncertainty in the program.
As the Oklahoma Sooners begin their coaching search, it wouldn’t be surprising to see several more players put their names in the transfer portal.
