The Tennessee Titans were knocked from their perch atop the AFC after a Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots, but they maintained their comfortable lead in the division over the Indianapolis Colts.
That’s because the Colts also lost on Sunday. Indy staked itself to a 24-14 lead going into the half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, only to blow it and end up losing, 38-31.
With the loss, the Titans keep their two-game-plus-tie-breaker lead over the Colts with five games left to play. Here’s a look at the full standings in the AFC South.
1. Tennessee Titans (8-4)
2. Indianapolis Colts (6-6)
3. Houston Texans (2-9)
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9)
According to FiveThirtyEight, the Titans still have a 98 percent chance to make the playoffs, and a 96 percent chance to win the division. Of course, their chances to take the No. 1 seed have taken a hit, falling to 21 percent.
Tennessee currently sits in the No. 3 seed in the conference, with the Patriots at No. 2 and the Baltimore Ravens at No. 1.
In Week 13, the Titans will be on a bye, while the Colts draw a matchup against the Houston Texans before their bye in Week 14. The Pats will travel to take on the Buffalo Bills, and the Ravens will face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
