After the Pittsburgh Steelers humiliating 41-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media and offered up an update on the Steelers injuries and the news wasn’t great.
Inside linebacker Robert Spillane suffered a knee injury in the first half and was unable to return. Tight end Pat Freiermuth took a big hit to the head late in the game and according to Tomlin is being evaluated for a concussion.
Spillane was in the game and playing significant reps due to the continued mediocre play of Devin Bush. As for Freiermuth, there will be much debate about why he was even in the game that late to take a big hit when the outcome was decided.
Hopefully the Steelers will get Spillane and Freiermuth back soon. Next week the Steelers welcome the Baltimore Ravens to Pittsburgh with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.
