Pete Carroll says relationship with Russell Wilson is ‘best it’s ever been’

These Seattle Seahawks have seen better days.

These Seattle Seahawks have seen better days. Following yet another revealing loss at home, Seattle now is four games under .500 – the lowest point of the Russell Wilson era. Given all the offseason drama that was rumored and reported about Wilson wanting a trade, it’s only natural to wonder if there’s still a rift between Wilson and the front office.

He probably wouldn’t say if things were going poorly, but for what it’s worth, Pete Carroll says his relationship with Wilson is the best it’s ever been by far and they’ve only grown closer based on what happened this past offseason.

As you might expect, Carroll is taking an optimistic view of how the rest of the season might unfold.

Instead of worrying about how the 3-7 start may affect Wilson’s future with the franchise, Carroll says that he’s looking at how a 7-0 finish to the season will affect all of it.

That’s exactly the kind of irrational optimism we have come to know and love. Carroll deserves at lot of credit for keeping this team competitive as long as he has.
