While the rest of the NFL was in action during Week 11, the Rams and Broncos had the week off for their byes. The Rams have been in the top 10 of power rankings all season and that hasn’t changed entering Week 12 – even though they did drop one spot.
Nate Davis of USA TODAY Sports moved the Rams from No. 7 to 8 this week after the Patriots jumped them by going from No. 8 to 6. Davis notes that the Rams have an upcoming game against the Packers in Week 12, visiting Lambeau Field where Matthew Stafford is 3-7 in his career.
- Rams (7):QB Matthew Stafford heads back to Lambeau Field, where he’s 3-7 all time … though he has split his last six in Wisconsin.
What’s even more notable than the fact that the Rams are eighth in this week’s power rankings is where their upcoming opponents are slotted. Of their seven games left on the schedule, four opponents are currently ranked in the top 10 of Davis’ poll: the Cardinals (1), Packers (3), Ravens (9) and Vikings (10).
The Rams will also face the 49ers (16), Seahawks (24) and Jaguars (29), so it’s a mix of both favorable matchups and tougher ones. But when it comes to the 49ers and Seahawks, divisional games are never easy.
It all amounts to the toughest remaining schedule in the NFC, making it a difficult finish to the year for Los Angeles.
