Another hit for the LSU Tigers. On Monday it was reported by Sam Spiegelman of Rivals that Eli Ricks is entering the transfer portal.
Ricks was the No. 2 cornerback of the 2020 class and No. 14 overall according to the 247Sports composite rankings. In 2020 he led the team in interceptions as a freshman.
Ricks played in just six games this year before opting for surgery. He tallied 11 tackles and one interception. Last year he accumulated 20 tackles and four interceptions in eight games. He will now test the transfer portal where he should have plenty of suitors.

Next year’s defense will look completely different on the backend with no Derek Stingley Jr, who will likely head to the NFL draft, and now with no Ricks. The team will rely on Dwight McGlothern, Sage Ryan, and others moving forward. Once LSU announces their new head coach, they will have their hands full with keeping the team intact.
