Jaden Shackelford reaches 1000 career points

Congratulate Jaden Shackelford on 1000 career points (53rd UA player to do so)!

Jaden Shackelford has hit 1000 career points in his career at Alabama, which began back in 2019 under first-year head basketball coach Nate Oats.

In that first season, Shackelford started in half of Alabama’s games that year and averaged 15 PPG. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team at the end of that 2019-2020 season.

In year two, during the 2020-21 season, Shackelford started in all but one game for the Crimson Tide en route to the SEC regular season and tournament championships. He finished the year All-SEC.

This year, Shackelford was named to the preseason All-SEC list and his Alabama team was ranked at No. 14 in the initial AP Poll.

So far this season, Shackelford is on pace for a monster year, averaging 19.3 PPG and 7.3 RPG entering the fourth game on the year.

During the early portion of the second half of Friday night’s matchup against Oakland, Shackelford hit a free-throw for his 1000th career point in a Crimson Tide uniform, becoming the program’s 53rd player to do so.

It’s a huge accomplishment just four games into the season.

Shackelford will surely add several hundred more points to that total by the time this 2021-22 Alabama basketball season is over with, and I’m here for every single one of them.
