New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has not been short on praise for Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts. Praising him throughout the week, Belichick gave him a lofty comparison on Wednesday.
Pitts has been a bright spot for the Atlanta Falcons offense. He has recorded 40 catches for 606 yards and a touchdown. He is coming off a performance against the Dallas Cowboys that saw him record four receptions for 60 yards. He has two 100-yard games this season, and could be a big factor yet again on Thursday.
Per Nick O’Malley of Masslive.com, Belichick noted that Pitts reminds him of two players in particular. Both of those players were former Atlanta Falcons.
“He’s a huge target,” Belichick said. “He’s hard to overthrow and he makes plays with the ball on either side that most receivers just can’t make. So it’s somewhere between a Julio Jones and a Tony Gonzalez.”
With the Patriots looking to continue their winning streak, Pitts will be a player the Patriots will need to pay attention to.
