The Irish are recruiting at a very high level right now, not just in the 2022 recruiting class but also with a phenomenal start to the 2023 cycle as well. Next year’s class currently has 6 commits, is ranked in the Top-5 nationally and has tons of momentum.
That has allowed Brian Kelly and his staff to go after some big fish, one of them being Nevada’s Justyn Rhett. Earlier this evening, the Bishop Gorman cornerback decided to announce his top five schools and the Irish made the cut along with Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
Of his top five, four of them have recently been to the College Football Playoff, the other is the Volunteers. Although Rhett has yet to make a decision on when he will make his commitment, it’s still good that he has the Irish as a school he’s still considering.
