On an afternoon where the Tennessee Titans were once again short-handed and needed a spark on offense, wide receiver Marcus Johnson provided it and helped the Titans to a 23-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.
Johnson finished the game with five receptions for 100 yards, including a 50-yard reception that finally got the Titans’ offense going after a pair of three-and-outs to start the game.
The catch led to a field goal and Tennessee’s first points of the afternoon. Johnson ended up reeling in one catch on each of the Titans’ five scoring drives.
Honorable mention: Jeffery Simmons
Big Jeff continues to wreak havoc upfront. Not only did he come away with a pair of sacks, giving him five in the last two games, but he also added four tackles and batted down a pass.
With the four sacks the Titans had in total, the team is now up to 27 on the season, eight more than they had all of 2020. Coming into this week, the Los Angeles Rams led the NFL with 28.
With the win, the Titans improved to 8-2 and opened up their lead for the best record in the AFC to two games. Tennessee will host the 1-8 Houston Texans in Week 11.
