The Washington Football Team was up 13-0 on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late in the second quarter when defensive end Chase Young went down in pain with a leg injury.
The injury looked serious as the medical cart came on the field for Young, who waved it off and was helped to the locker room by Washington’s training staff.
Washington didn’t wait long to rule Young out for the game, which is a bad sign as most players who leave are initially ruled as questionable to return.
Well, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the initial fear is a torn ACL for Young. This is absolutely brutal news for Young and Washington.
The initial fear for Washington DE Chase Young is a torn ACL, source said. The team is awaiting a full battery of tests, but if the diagnosis is confirmed, that would, of course, knock him out for the season.
