Do the Boston Celtics need to shake up their plan to have veteran guard Marcus Smart start at the point this season when All-Star forward Jaylen Brown returns from his injured hamstring after Dennis Schroder’s 38-point explosion against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night?
For now, the team can wait things out and appreciate the fact that at least against the reigning NBA champions, the Celtics have an option to fill up the stat sheet in Brown’s absence, but what about when the Cal-Berkeley product returns to the court in a few games? Smart has been playing better of late than he was to start the season, but it’s hard to look at what Schroder has been doing and not wonder if he has earned the starting job moving forward.
The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “The Garden Report” debated exactly this issue on their most recent episode released after Schroder’s monumental game.
Watch the video embedded above to hear their thoughts on who ought to be Boston’s starting point guard as the season continues.
