After an uneven finish to last season and rough play to start the 2021-22 NBA season, Boston Celtics veteran guard Marcus Smart looks like he might be finding his way back to the fearsome defender and respected scorer he has made a career as over the years.
Putting up 13 points, 6 assists and 3 steals while shooting a very solid 5-of-12 from the field in the Celtics’ 104-88 win over the Toronto Raptors in the team’s first home win of the season, Smart looked every bit the glue guy who has held Boston rosters together almost since the moment he stepped on the court.
Recent struggles aside, it would be a massive boost to this team’s ceiling if the Flower Mound native can keep this kind of play up on a consistent basis. Has Smart turned the corner on one of the more forgettable stretches of his otherwise excellent career?
The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “The Garden Report” explore whether they believe what they saw from the Oklahoma State product is for real and likely to continue — watch the video embedded above to hear their takes on where Smart’s game is at.
