After going off for 35 points in the G League against the Delaware Blue Coats for Long Island, Brooklyn Nets rookie Cam Thomas was still without his first NBA field goal entering Wednesday’s game. It seemed a bit odd considering he’s a walking bucket who had played 20 minutes heading into Wednesday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic.
This was not going to last forever though. In that Nets win, the 20-year-old scored his first field goal, forcing the issue from half court and charging to the basket.

After the game, Nets star Kevin Durant made sure to give the young rookie his props on his instagram. He reposted a picture of the two talking to each other heading to the locker room following the win saying, “U (You) can’t score on me and you know DAMN well u (you) can’t check me … but nice pic.” In response, Thomas made sure to go out like this before the night ended.
“Just lemme (let me) know when you ready man … old (expletive) can’t guard me.”
