The Tennessee Titans made an addition to their 53-man roster on Wednesday after promoting cornerback Chris Jones from the practice squad.
Jones has appeared in two games for the Titans this season. He saw a season-high 28 snaps in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams, where he got the nod for backup duty over recently-released fellow cornerback, Breon Borders.
Jones earned an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 71.4, and a coverage mark of 71.5, both ranking top five on Tennessee’s defense on Sunday.
The Titans are hoping to add another cornerback to their active roster soon, as the team designated Kristian Fulton to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday.
Fulton, who was in the midst of a breakout season before going on IR in Week 6, will provide a huge boost to a Titans defense that was already playing great football without him.
However, if Fulton can’t get back on the field in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints, Jones will likely see significant snaps once again.
