The Penn State Nittany Lions came into today’s game against Maryland looking to end a three-game losing streak but in the first half, but the first half performance by the Nittany Lions was anything but inspiring.
Despite Penn State leading the game at halftime, all hanks to a missed extra point by Maryland late in the first half, Penn State Twitter was not happy with what it witnessed. Drawing heated attention was James Franklin’s clock management at the end of the half, where Penn State causally went through the final moments of the half despite having three timeouts in its hand.
What … What just happened in the last :30 of the first half of PSU-MD?

1:15 with all 3 timeouts and they choose to run out the clock and give the ball back to maryland to start the 2nd half after just giving up a TD pic.twitter.com/i94TCqIuiA

I have never seen a #PennState team under Franklin content with a 7-6 halftime lead.

@coachjfranklin you have checked out on this team and it’s embarrassing.

That is a disgusting end to the first half with the clock management for #PennState. Team once again completely unprepared to play against an inferior team. James Franklin should be fired tomorrow if they lose this game.

Can somebody explain to me what the hell that last possession was? #PSUvsMD

The Wildcat Play that #PennState tried to run in the first quarter on 4th down is coming back to haunt them, Penn State leads Maryland 7-6 #PSUvsMD

We’ll see how these opinions look at the end of the game.
