The Boston Celtics reportedly held a players-only meeting on their trip to Florida to play the Orlando Magic on the first leg of a short early-season road trip according to ESPN Insider Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter Wednesday evening during the Magic game.
Woj reports that, in response to the team’s historic collapse against the Chicago Bulls on Monday and in the wake of veteran guard Marcus Smart’s postgame comments focused on the play of All-Star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, the team elected to get together to air out grievances.
“Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, they did talk about the collapse against the Bulls and Marcus Smart’s comments after the game about those two not passing the ball. I’m told it was emotional at times, but in the end perhaps not a terribly productive meeting — maybe not even beneficial.”

From the early returns on the court vs. Orlando, that take seems to check out.
