Sam Pittman knows what Arkansas has to do in its last four games.
He also knows what Arkansas needs to do.
“You don’t want to let it all slide away from you,” Pittman said. “And I don’t feel like it will if we can win x number of games, I don’t want to get into that.”
Pittman understands Saturday’s game is a make-or-break type of situation.
A loss wouldn’t be a death knell to their bowl hopes, but it would put immense pressure on the team and staff.
“Two pretty good teams, I think,” Pittman said. “Both 5-3; both of us had some big wins this year. I’m glad we have them here.”
The Razorbacks haven’t beaten Mississippi State in Fayetteville since 2003.
Mike Leach teams always present a challenge, and this one will be no different.
“We want to finish the season as good as we possibly can,” Pittman said. “The teams we play are pretty good, and we know that. It’s a big challenge, but we’re looking forward to it.”
If Arkansas is up to the challenge, a warmer bowl destination will likely await them.
