Everybody loves the Monday Night Football Manningcast, in which Peyton and Eli Manning simply sit there watching football (and eating chicken) while a camera catches their banter. It reminds us of home, if home included occasional insights from guys who’ve hoisted the Lombardi Trophy a combined four times.
About the only people the show has not worked out for, though, is current NFL players. The Mannings have welcomed five such guests, and each of them has subsequently lost their next game. Two of them, Russell Wilson and Rob Gronkowski, have also missed time due to injury.
This is very real. The numbers prove it.
Is there a Manningcast curse? 🤔 @EliManning

Hey, Mannings, how about a recurring spot for Tom Brady? Nobody has ever deserved a little bit of bad luck more than that guy.
So, look, here at FTW we’re all about News You Can Use. Let’s spin this forward. On Monday night of Week 8, the Mannings did, indeed, welcome a current NFL player to the show.

No, Josh Allen! Why would you risk undoing whatever magical enchantment you paid somebody to give you prior to last season to make you into a good quarterback? Why!?!?
The 5-2 Bills are absolutely doomed in their game at 1-6 Jacksonville this week. Yes, they play the Jaguars, and yes Urban Meyer is already suffering under the Creepy Old Guy at the Bar Curse, which is quite powerful, and also the Let Me Treat These Professional Players Like They Should Be Thankful I’m Here, which is another one that has waylaid many a better man than Urban. But even these two curses, combined, cannot contend with the Manningcast Curse. They just can’t.
Take all your money and put it on the Jaguars.
Also the acknowledgement of this 100 percent real curse will almost certainly dissuade the Tennessee Titans from signing Jon Stewart to replace Derrick Henry so adjust your fantasy football plans accordingly.
