Celtics’ Jaylen Brown says 2OT loss to Washington Wizards came down to shot-making

The Boston Celtics are 1-2 in overtime games so far this season, as they lost another Saturday to the Washington Wizards.

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown played 47 minutes in a double-overtime loss to the Washington Wizards Saturday, more than any other Celtic on the night. He was also one of seven Celtics to attempt a three without a make as the team was arctic-level cold from deep. Brown pointed to shot-making as the reason for the loss.

“We shot the ball terribly tonight, but you know, it was kind of old school. It was like just rebound and attack the paint,” Brown said after the game. “That’s what we did despite not shooting the ball well, still could have won this game and that’s a sign of a good team.”

Brown said he liked the defensive effort Saturday as the team, but they just need to make some better plays as the game continues on. This was already the Celtics’ third overtime game of the season, winning just one.

“We just got to figure out how to put these games away,” Brown said. “There shouldn’t have been an overtime, we got to make plays down the stretch.”

Brown said if they hit even two more of their three attempts they win by “five to 10 points.” He contributed 34 points on the night, going 14-for-24 from the floor but 0-for-5 from deep.

“We got a lot of character in his locker room, got a lot of fight in this locker room, so we just got to bring it on Monday,” Brown stated.
