When the Associated Press released their top-25 on Sunday morning, many Oregon Duck fans likely took umbrage with the fact that Ohio State is still ranked a spot ahead of them.
The Ducks and Buckeyes have the same record, yet Oregon has a higher strength of schedule, strength of record, and a head-to-head win over Ohio State in their house, without two of their best players. Yet, the Buckeyes’ only loss of the season is obviously better than Oregon’s.

So should the Buckeyes be ranked ahead of the Ducks? Who is the better team really?
We may get a real answer to that question at the end of the season, with ESPN now predicting that the Ducks will meet Ohio State in a rematch in the Rose Bowl.
Though it may be hard for many Oregon fans to admit, the Buckeyes would almost undoubtedly be the favorite in that rematch, seeing as their offense seems to have gotten back on track since the Ducks played them early on. Of course, Oregon would have Kayvon Thibodeaux back on the field this time around, and Anthony Brown has the offense rolling, but I think it’s fair to say that Ohio State has looked like the better team this year.
Regardless, it would be a fun rematch for sure, this time much closer to home for Oregon fans. We’ll see if it actually happens.
