Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson in, CB Shaun Wade out for Week 8

The Patriots had 14 questionable players. 13 of those players will suit up for Week 8.

The New England Patriots may have had 14 questionable players for Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium, but Bill Belichick’s team will have every one of them except cornerback Shaun Wade (concussion), a depth player. That’s good news for New England which is facing an L.A. team that’s coming off a bye.

The Patriots’ inactives included Wade, tight end Devin Asiasi, guard Yasir Durant, running back J.J. Taylor, special teams ace Brandon Kings (who was ruled out on Friday) and defensive end Ronnie Perkins. It seems Stevenson, a 2021 draft pick, has earned the coaches’ trust — he will replace Taylor, who had a strong performance last week.

The biggest injury news for the Chargers was that running back Austin Ekeler (hip) will dress for the game despite being questionable.

The Patriots had 14 players in total listed as questionable: WR Kendrick Bourne (shoulder), TE Jonnu Smith (shoulder), G Shaq Mason (abdomen), C David Andrews (ankle), DT Davon Godchaux (finger), DT Carl Davis (hand), DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (knee), LB Dont’a Hightower (ankle), LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (ribs), LB Josh Uche (shoulder), LB Kyle Van Noy (groin), CB Shaun Wade (concussion), S Kyle Dugger (neck) and K Nick Folk (left knee).

The teams kickoff at 4:05 p.m. ET.
