The Boston Celtics might take a surprise turn into the so-called “Hospital Celtics” with several players added to the list of potential scratches for the team’s road contest against the Washington Wizards on Saturday.
The morning of the game, the club added Robert Williams III to the list of questionable players due to non-COVID illness, perhaps the same one that has already had Marcus Smart ruled out for the game. Romeo Langford is also listed as questionable for the game with left calf tightness, and head coach Ime Udoka had reported Friday that Aaron Nesmith had also been ill (non-COVID), but would travel with the team.
Josh Richardson is also listed on the updated injury report as probable with back spasms, meaning we could see some new faces in the rotation against the Wizards this weekend.
#NEBHInjuryReport update:
Romeo Langford (left calf tightness) – QUESTIONABLE
Josh Richardson (low back spasm) – PROBABLE
Marcus Smart (illness, non-COVID) – OUT
Robert Williams (illness, non-COVID) – QUESTIONABLE https://t.co/nMSIRqKl16— Boston Celtics (@celtics) October 30, 2021
For fans questioning the lineups Udoka has chosen to roll with thus far, it might be a good look at why he has done so — or why he might want to shake things up a bit.
