Dragon Age: Origins is still the best Dragon Age game, that’s just science, logic, and reason. And you have to hand at least some credit to Sandal Feddic for how memorable it is. On the surface, Sandal is a simple comic relief character who can only say “enchantment”, but BioWare gave him more depth than the writers probably had to, cementing him as one of the best side characters in video games.
Some of that is also down to Yuri Lowenthal’s performance, the actor best known for his role as Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man. We recently got the chance to talk with Lowenthal about his work, and we have a bigger interview piece coming in the next few days, but we didn’t want to keep the Dragon Age fanbase waiting on this one. So, would Lowenthal reprise his role as Sandal if he was asked to come back for the upcoming Dragon Age 4?
“100%, I love that little guy,” he tells USA Today. “I love him so much.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem likely. “I don’t think I’m speaking out of turn, but as far as I know there’s no Sandal in Dragon Age 4,” Lowenthal explains. “If there is then it wasn’t played by me because I would have loved to have come back. I’m excited to hear about the new Dragon Age because Dragon Age is awesome, but I love Sandal.
“Here’s what makes Sandal great. He could have just been a terrible joke, and he wasn’t. They gave him some turns that nobody saw coming. He’s a right badass. So God bless you, Sandal, wherever you may be. And a hearty enchantment to you.”
BioWare hasn’t announced a release date for Dragon Age 4 just yet, but it’s reportedly been in development since 2015.
