Ben Simmons worked out with Sixers on Tuesday at practice facility

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons worked out at the practice facility with the team on Tuesday.

While the Philadelphia 76ers continue to try and control what they can control, they are still dealing with the Ben Simmons situation back home. Despite being on the road on Tuesday to take on the New York Knicks, they have their mind on their 25-year old star.

As they continue to try and help him get over the hump mentally to get back out on the floor, they are still having him come into the facility in Camden, NJ to continue to try and work on things. They have maintained that they want Simmons with the team and on the floor despite his trade request and they are willing to work things out.

TNT’s Allie LaForce reported on Tuesday on the TNT telecast that the 3-time All-Star worked out with the team in Camden on Tuesday:

I was also told that he has worked out at the facility in Camden with the team as recent as this morning. Members of the front office as well as the organization confirmed with me he’s receiving professional help for his mental health through the Players Union. He’s also going through regular treatment on his back which e expressed concern about last week. The front office told me that they will continue to pay him as long as he is working on mentally and physically getting better and they said ‘It’s not about the money for us. It’s about winning a title. We want to win and he’s a really good player.’ The only way they’ll deal him is if the team gets better and there just are not a lot of scenarios where that makes sense right now.

The Sixers are still a good team without Simmons, but if they want to properly challenge the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference, they will need their 25-year old back out on the floor. Either have him out there or they trade him for a difference-maker. There is no in-between right now.
