Breaking: New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan recorded his first sack of the 2021 NFL season. He’s had dozens of pressures but struggled to bring any of the quarterbacks he faced to the ground, but now he’s gotten over that hurdle. Good coverage from his teammates in the secondary bought enough time for him to beat his blocker and make a play as Geno Smith scrambled.
It came directly following a sack by Demario Davis on the previous play, helping to stall the drive push the Seattle Seahawks just far enough back for the subsequent field goal try to sail wide of the uprights. That proved critical in their 13-10 win.
After the game, Jordan admitted that it felt great to “crack that seal.”
“I love that it took me six games,” he added flatly. He’s got to be as pleased as anyone to quiet that talking-point. Now he can go get to work.
