The Rams escaped with a win over the Lions on Sunday afternoon, but the victory didn’t come without its bumps and bruises to several key players. Sean McVay updated reporters on the team’s injuries Monday, revealing that five starters were banged up coming out of the win.
Andrew Whitworth was the most notable as McVay said he banged up his knee. He’ll miss practice on Wednesday, at the very least, and McVay wasn’t certain about whether he will be able to play against the Texans on Sunday. It depends how his knee responds throughout the week.
Jordan Fuller and Robert Rochell also suffered knee injuries and will most likely miss practice Wednesday, though McVay indicated they could play against Houston. The same goes for Sebastian Joseph-Day and Terrell Lewis, who suffered pec and rib injuries, respectively.
The Rams will be smart with all five players and give them time to rest and heal before Week 8.
Rams LT Andrew Whitworth "banged his knee up a little bit," McVay said. They'll be "extra-cautious" with him this week.
Jordan Fuller, Robert Rochell, Terrell Lewis and Sebastian Joseph-Day are all unlikely to practice Wednesday, but all should play Sunday.
