It’s mock draft Monday and we are through another week of college football. Unfortunately, it didn’t end the way Penn State had hoped. However, on the bright side, we are closer to the 2022 NFL draft and Penn State has done a stellar job at developing players for the next level.
That being said, we have another mock draft with two Nittany Lions selected in the first round. Which media outlet you may ask? It is indeed The Draft Network.
These past few weeks, we have seen quite a few first-round mock drafts from analysts of The Draft Network who rotate every week to give their own draft predictions.
The first player selected was safety Jaquan Brisker to the Dallas Cowboys with the 26th overall pick.
The Cowboys’ secondary looks impressive this season, but they could still use more help. They only have Keanu Neal on a one-year contract and bringing in Brisker would put him in a starting situation right away. He is a player that brings a lot of versatility to the table.
If the Cowboys were to look for a secondary prospect in the first two rounds, it would be tough for them to pass up on a player with both the physical and athletic tangibles to be a day one NFL starter.
Our next player has done nothing but raise his draft stock coming into this season. He really started to put himself on the map during the 2020 season but is a player that has continued to be slept on in the 2022 NFL draft conversation.
Yes, we are talking about Jahan Dotson, and this would be a perfect landing spot for him, going to the Buffalo Bills with the 32nd overall pick.
The Bills will likely be without veteran wideout Emmanuel Sanders after this season, and their receiver depth will be lacking.
That is where Dotson comes in. He has the talent to potentially be a WR1, but he will flourish much better in a WR2 role, and what better player to team up with than Stefon Diggs while having a top-five and MVP-caliber quarterback throwing you the ball?
The Nittany Lions are going to have another busy draft, with having quite a few players being selected, with Brisker and Dotson leading that list.
