The 49ers on Monday announced a pair of roster moves following their Week 7 loss to the Colts.
Defensive end Jordan Willis was added to the roster after missing the first six games because of a suspension that came down during training camp after he violated the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing substances. There won’t need to be a corresponding roster move for now since the 49ers get a one-week roster exemption while Willis works back into practice.
Willis was acquired by San Francisco last season in a trade with the Jets. He had 2.5 sacks and two tackles for loss in seven games with the 49ers. They re-signed him on a one-year deal this offseason.
The 49ers also added veteran safety Tony Jefferson to their practice squad after Jaquiski Tartt left Sunday night’s game with a knee injury. Jefferson spent time in the preseason with San Francisco before going on IR in mid-August and getting released a couple weeks later.
