Oregon entered the UCLA game as healthy as it has been all season and while several key players went down in the Rose Bowl, the Ducks left Pasadena relatively healthy.
Center Alex Forsyth was expected to be in the game as the week went on, but he was a last-minute scratch and had to watch the game from the sidelines. Head coach Mario Cristobal said his all-conference center is still day to day. Getting Forsyth back snapping the ball will allow the other offensive linemen to slide back into the positions they’re supposed to be in, which will make that group even better than they already are.
Unfortunately, one of Forsyth’s replacements, Jackson Powers-Johnson suffered an ankle injury and is likely to miss at least two weeks. Cristobal indicated that it was just a sprain and that JPJ avoided major injury.
Linebacker Mase Funa also went down during the game on Saturday, but he is expected to be fine and play this coming week against Colorado.
Safety Jordan Happle is the only other Duck that might have to take a week off due to an unspecified ailment.
Kayvon Thibodeaux played the entire day, but he had to get that injured ankle taped up during the second half. The pain didn’t seem to affect the defensive end as he had a monster day with nine tackles, eight solo, two sacks, and 4.5 tackles for loss.
