Arkansas didn’t find its way back inside the Top 25 yet, but the Razorbacks are inching that way.
Coach Sam Pittman’s team, fresh off a 45-3 pasting of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, picked up 41 points in voting. If the poll extended, that would make Arkansas the 28th-ranked team in FBS.
Last week was the first time the Razorbacks had fallen out of the poll since after Week 2 when the Hogs beat then-No. 15 Texas. With a bye week on the slate now, it’s unlikely Arkansas jumps back in after Week 9. However, a win over Mississippi State on November 6, could see it happen.
The SEC had six teams represented in the poll after Week 8. No. 1 Georgia, No. 3 Alabama, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 12 Kentucky, No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 21 Auburn were all ranked. Arkansas and Florida picked up votes.
Arkansas is 5-3 overall and 1-3 in the SEC with four games left. After Mississippi State, Arkansas travels to LSU and Alabama, then returns to Fayetteville for the season finale against Missouri the day after Thanksgiving.
