Everything we know following Oregon’s thrilling 34-31 win over UCLA

Oregon needed a late interception to hold on to a close 34-31 win over Chip Kelly and the UCLA Bruins.

It was closer than it probably should have been, but the Oregon Ducks came out of the Rose Bowl with a huge 34-31 win over UCLA.

Oregon improves to 6-1 for the season and 3-1 in conference play, while the Bruins dropped to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in Pac-12 action.

The Ducks dominated the game in the second and third quarter, outscoring the Bruins 34-3 at one point. But UCLA used an interception from Anthony Brown to set up an easy score and another interception to begin what could have been a game-winning drive in the waning minutes.

Tim DeRuyter’s defense blitzed most of the day and on the last drive, UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson took a big hit and was knocked out of the game. Despite a couple of big first down throws from backup Ethan Garbers, he finally made a mistake by staring down a receiver and DJ James jumped the route and effectively ended the game.
