Behind enemy lines: Roll Tide Wire previews Alabama football ahead of playing Tennessee

Tennessee (4-3, 2-2 SEC) will play No. 4 Alabama (6-1, 3-1 SEC) Saturday in Week 8 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EDT and will be televised by ESPN.

Ahead of Saturday’s contest, Stacey Blackwood of Roll Tide Wire previews Alabama.

Do you think Alabama can win the SEC after a close game at Florida and losing to Texas A&M?

Alabama certainly has the talent to win the SEC. Florida and Texas A&M both had great home-field advantages that caused some issues for the team, but it is so hard to bet against Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

Has Alabama’s defense faced a lot of uptempo offenses this season?

Not really. Ole Miss has been the only team that Alabama has played that plays with much tempo. That will definitely be one area of the game this weekend to focus on. Especially early on in the contest.

What are the strength and weaknesses of Alabama’s defense through seven games?

It has been a strange season for the defense. In moments they look like one of the best defenses in the country, and in other moments they do not look like they are even on the same page. If I am being honest, outside of Will Anderson Jr. and Phidarian Mathis, the defense has really been inconsistent. The strength of the defense is Anderson and Mathis, the weakness is the inconsistency from the other nine defenders.
