After a big win over the TCU Horned Frogs, the Oklahoma Sooners have found themselves climbing various rankings the last couple of days. Still at No. 1 in our Big 12 Power Rankings, the Oklahoma Sooners climbed to No. 2 in the latest USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.
In the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Football Re-Rank, the Oklahoma Sooners moved up to No. 4 in their rankings of every team in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Despite the 21 point win, the Sooners still lag behind the Georgia Bulldogs, Cincinnati Bearcats, and Alabama Crimson Tide.
Oklahoma State jumped into the top six and sit just behind the Michigan Wolverines in the re-rank.
The Oklahoma Sooners have been on a roll the last six quarters, outscoring the Texas Longhorns and the TCU Horned Frogs by a combined score of 56-30. Caleb Williams has been a game-changer for the Sooners, using his elite arm talent to beat teams at every level of the defense and create big plays with his rushing ability.
Williams has eight total touchdowns over the last two games, six passing and two rushing touchdowns against the Longhorns and Horned Frogs. The offense has been more explosive and the running game has found new life in the last two games providing optimism that the Sooners look as we’ve expected them to look during the Lincoln Riley era.
