The Minnesota Vikings don’t know how to lock down anything easy.
On Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, Minnesota had an 11-point lead against the NFC South team.
Then, it was an 8-point lead after a field goal.
The Vikings appeared positioned for a chance at an insurance field goal but lost yardage on a third-down run.
Still, things looked okay when the ensuing punt was downed at the Carolina 4.
Have no fear, Sam Darnold’s here.
The former New York Jet led a 96-yard march and completed twice on fourth down, including once on fourth-and-10 from the 4.
He found Robby Anderson for a touchdown. Redemption Robby had spent his afternoon dropping pass after pass.
The Panthers went for two and got it as Darnold shoveled a pass to Tommy Tremble with 42 seconds left.
The game went to overtime tied at 28 after Greg Joseph missed a 47-yard field goal as regulation expired.
Yes, the same Joseph who kicked a 54-yarder to sink the Detroit Lions.
