The votes are in and Penn State has been crowned a champion. While Penn State’s hopes of winning a national championship on the football field will continue on, ESPN has crowned Penn state as home to the nation’s top college football town in the United States.
ESPN had been asking fans to cast votes for the top college football towns in America all season, and the final tally came out in favor of Nittany Nation. Was there ever a doubt?
Of course not.

What makes college football so great is there are so many outstanding college towns that should be on every true college football fan’s bucket list. A number of spots in the SEC had strong cases to consider, including LSU, and every college town has its own set of traditions and history to be proud of.
But time and time again, the environment and community surrounding a Penn State home game, especially in a primetime whiteout atmosphere, is incredibly tough to beat.
So go ahead and wear this as a badge of honor, Penn State fans. You have earned it and helped create it.
And while we are on the subject, here is a reminder that Penn State has what some might say is one of the top college basketball towns in the Big Ten too!
