On Friday, it was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Houston Rockets will convert rookie Daishen Nix to a two-way contract ahead of the start of the season.
Nix, who went undrafted, played with the Philadelphia 76ers in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals. He eventually signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Rockets and has made one appearance in the preseason.
The 19-year-old played last season with the Ignite in their inaugural season, posting 8.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and one steal in 15 games. He recorded his best game of the truncated season on Feb. 13 with 25 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
He will once again be teammates with Jalen Green in Houston.

Nix will split his time this season between the Rockets and Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA G League. He will have the opportunity to develop with the Vipers while gaining some NBA experience throughout the season with the Rockets.
Players this season signed to two-way contracts are eligible to spend no more than 50 games in the NBA. They will earn a flat salary equal to 50% of the minimum salary applicable to a player with zero years of service.
