The Cleveland Browns have had a myriad of injury issues so far this season and those continue to impact the team going into Week 6. While concerns around offensive tackles Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin and a variety of defenders still linger, a new injury has become front and center.
Running back Nick Chubb will miss Sunday’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals due to a calf injury. Chubb had not practice this week due to the injury and was noted as out for the game early Friday afternoon.
With Chubb out, Kareem Hunt will, likely, care the load for the Browns top-ranked rushing attack. Hunt has been dealing with an injury this week as well but is expected to play. D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton will back up Hunt.
Last year, Johnson had a big game against the Dallas Cowboys with 13 carries for 95 yards after Chubb went down early in the game.
With a run-first offense, an injured offensive line and Baker Mayfield still dealing with a shoulder issue, it will be important for Hunt, Johnson and Felton to carry a big load on Sunday against the lone undefeated team in the NFL.
