The Philadelphia 76ers are preparing for the 2021-22 season with one final tuneup with the Detroit Pistons on Friday in the Motor City. The Sixers have had a wild exhibition schedule as they deal with the circus surrounding Ben Simmons, but things have been productive.
Philadelphia has seen the emergence of young shooting guard Isaiah Joe and they still have a legitimate MVP candidate in Joel Embiid who continues to be dominant.
As the Sixers welcome Simmons back to the team, he has been going through individual workouts before he can officially rejoin the team on Friday in Detroit. As far as him actually playing in the game, he is listed as doubtful due to what the injury report is calling “return to competition reconditioning”.
To be clear, Simmons is doubtful due to return to competition reconditioning https://t.co/H6CoEK5qog

Simmons is more than likely not playing in this game, but this does open the door for it a little bit, at least.
As for Embiid and Danny Green, those two are definitely out against the Pistons due to rest. Considering it is the preseason finale, there is no reason to really push them out there in this one.
Along with Simmons being doubtful, Joel Embiid and Danny Green are both out tomorrow due to rest. Preseason basketball! #Sixers
