Raiders DE Maxx Crosby ranked as PFF’s No. 1 EDGE defender

The Raiders didn’t get a Week 5 win over the Bears, but that wasn’t really due to the fault of the defense. They allowed just 20 points and gave up only 252 total yards.

One of the players that shine again was Maxx Crosby, who continues to be a bright spot for the Raiders. While he didn’t record a stat, he was disruptive and the Bears had to devote several blockers to him.

According to Pro Football Focus, he is the No. 1 rated EDGE defender through five weeks. He continues to lead the NFL in pressures (31) and QB hits (11).

Crosby and the defense continue to do their job getting after the quarterback. Despite several injuries in the secondary, the Raiders are finding a way to be competitive. However, the offense needs to start holding up their end of the bargain if this team does want to make a playoff run.

As for Crosby, he continues to be one of the best EDGE rushers in the NFL. With a few more sacks and big plays, he will likely earn the first Pro Bowl appearance of his career.
