CB Denzel Ward questionable to return in Week 5 (neck)

Ward is questionable to return with a neck injury, creating a problem at corner for the Browns:

The Cleveland Browns trailed the Los Angeles Chargers early in the second quarter after a long touchdown pass from Justin Herbert to Mike Williams. Second-year corner AJ Green was in coverage on Williams with second-year safety Grant Delpit seemingly failing to provide safety support over the top.

During that Chargers drive, the Browns announced the starting corner Denzel Ward was questionable to return due to a neck issue. Ward went out on the previous possession and went into the medical tent. He was seen on the sideline talking to his teammates following but had not returned to the game.

Cleveland is already without Greg Newsome II, the team’s other starting outside corner, due to injury. Greedy Williams stepped in for Newsome while Green has taken over for Ward at this time.

We will update here if Ward is able to return to the game. Behind Troy Hill, Williams and Green, MJ Stewart would be the Browns fourth corner.
