Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan publicly scolds Urban Meyer

Urban Meyer was blasted by Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan

The Urban Meyer tenure as Jacksonville Jaguars coach isn’t over … yet.

After the latest gaffe by the first-year head coach, being caught for inappropriate touching in an Ohio bar over the weekend, Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan put Meyer on blast Tuesday.

“I have addressed this matter with Urban. Specifics of our conversation will be held in confidence,” Khan said in a statement. “What I will say is his conduct last weekend was inexcusable. I appreciate Urban’s remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now, he must regain our trust and respect. That will require a personal commitment from Urban to everyone who supports, represents or plays for our team. I am confident he will deliver.”

The Jaguars are 0-4 overall, losing Thursday at Cincinnati. Meyer opted to remain in Ohio over the weekend, saying he wanted to spend time with his family.

The Jaguars have lost 19 consecutive games. The Jaguars host Tennessee on Sunday. A loss to Tennessee would give the Jaguars the second-longest losing streak in NFL history — only Tampa Bay has a longer losing streak (26 consecutive losses over the 1976-77 seasons.

In case you are wondering, there have been 28 men who have coached in the NFL who have never won a game. Most of the names are, um, not exactly of the household variety.
