Watch: TE Darren Waller posterizes Nasir Adderley on TD catch

Sometimes as a defender, you do everything you can do and it still isn’t good enough. Such was the case for Nasir Adderley attempting to defend Darren Waller in the end zone in the third quarter of the Raiders vs Chargers game.

On third and goal from the three-yard-line, Derek Carr dropped back and threw it to his 6-6 tight end who was well covered. Did I mention Waller is 6-6? Well, he used every bit of it along with some leaping ability to high-point and snag Carr’s pass for the touchdown. Adderley was right there. And he had no chance.

The touchdown was the second for the Raiders in the third quarter after going scoreless in the first half. The Chargers were up 21-0 at the half and that TD to Waller brought it to a one-score game at 21-14.

That is a big-time shift for the Raiders who had a net of 51 yards in the first half and just ONE first down. To go from that to two drives for touchdowns is quite the reverse of fortune.
